Combine 8 oz of sorted and rinsed tepary beans into 8 cups of water in a pot. Salt to taste.
Bring pot to a boil and reduce heat to simmer.
Partially cover the pot and cook beans until tender (approximately 2-4 hours). Do not add extra liquid to beans while cooking.
Add 16 oz of sorted and rinsed tepary beans to Crock Pot and water until covered. Salt to taste.
Cook on high until water boils and reduce to medium or low.
Cook covered for 8 to 10 hours until soft.
